Data Size Limit Exceeded
Identifying the issue:
Some backups might encounter the issues related to data size limit during the data upload. In some cases, limit excesses occur during restore plan executions. Typically. data size limit excess errors look similar: in reports, backup history, logs, etc. For example:
- 2020-01-15 05:05:08,702 [SERV] WARN - Data size limit exceeded.
- 2020-01-15 05:05:08,703 [SERV] WARN - You have exceeded your quota of 250.0 GB specified in your package. Contact your service providers for more details
- 2020-01-14 21:15:03,142 [PL] WARN - File \?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy109\priority\backup\system\reports\specialreport.docx size 1.3 MB exceeded size limit 36.5 GB. Datasize already added to backup: 54650727864
In the case above, it means that either your Backup Storage limit (applied to the user) or Company Storage limit (if user is a part a company that has such limit) of 250 GB is going to be exceeded during the current backup run, which at this point in time has already accumulated 36.5 GB of data for upload. That also means that prior to the backup there was already about 213.5 GB (250 - 36.5) of data stored in the corresponding storage account.
Just in case, the amount of backed-up data that is stored by a user in a certain storage account can be checked in the Backup application, on the Welcome tab:
