Issue description
The following error may occur during a VMware backup plan execution.
Error Message:
- Backing up virtual machine {Name of the Machine (VirtualMachine)} failed. VMware.Vim.VimException An error occurred while quiescing the virtual machine. See the virtual machine's event log for details
This issue can be invoked for several reasons. For example, I/O on a virtual machine is highly loaded and the quiescing operation is not able to flush a required data to disk, while further I/O is being created.
This error also occurs if you try to create a quiesced snapshot on a virtual machine that does not have any free space.

To Resolve VM Quiescing Issue
- Check the VMware ESXi version installed. If the version is older than VMware ESXi 6.0.0 build-5572656, upgrade to its latest version or a build-5572656 as earliest
- Make sure that all virtual machine drives have enough free space
- As a workaround, disable quiescing. To do this:
- Open MSP360 (CloudBerry) Backup for Windows.
- Find the required backup plan, then click Edit.
- Follow the backup plan to the Select Virtual Machines step.
