Retrieving Logs From Azure VMs

Situation

In some cases, logs from Azure VM instances may be required, e.g. if issues occur upon restore to Azure VM.

Solution

To collect logs from the guest operating system and to send performance data to Azure Monitor Metrics, install the Azure Monitor agent and create a data collection rule (DCR) that defines the data to collect and where to send it.

After you installed the Azure Monitor agent and created a data collection rule, follow the instructions stated in the Collect guest logs and metrics from Azure virtual machine chapter at docs. microsoft.com.
