Updating MSP360 products for Windows
The MSP360 product (Backup, Explorer, Drive, or Remote Desktop) requires a version update for fixes, new features, or compliance with the product lifecycle:
Please refer to the section corresponding to the product you need to update to find specific update instructions
If you are an MSP
Please perform an update via your MBS web-console -> "Downloads" tab.
If the latest release has not yet been generated in your portal, please make sure to click the button “Get Sandbox Latest” to do that:
The sandbox build is initially not public, and will not be automatically rolled out to end users. An MSP administrator can test the build on a small scale before making it publicly available for all managed users.
We generally recommend keeping the options “Enable Sandbox” and “Allow Automatic Update” enabled. The former ensures that the updated builds are firstly generated non-publicly before getting approved by an MSP administrator for public rollout, while the latter allows the public build to be installed remotely and automatically across the machines of all managed users:
If automatic updates are not enabled, please use the “Force Update” button on the “Remote Management” page of your MBS web-console for the machines with outdated Backup software builds:
In case this is not possible, please download the updated build from the “Downloads” tab and transfer the installation file to the machine that needs to be updated. You can install the update directly on top of the older version, your settings will be preserved.
Please note that the VM Edition of the Backup software uses a separate Backup software build.
Also please note that during the Backup software update procedure, no backup or restore plans should be running, otherwise they will be forcefully interrupted.
