Cause

Files and folders in the backup source are used by other processes.

Resolve the Issue

The most common solution for the access violation error is to remove files used by other processes from the backup plan. If those files must be included in the backup plan, add the users to the Backup Operators group.

1. Log in as an Administrator.
2. Run the lusrmgr.msc tool.
3. Navigate to the Groups folder, then click More Actions.

4. Select Add to Group....
5. In the Backup Operator Properties box, click Add.
6. Add the users you want to grant the Backup Operators permissions to, then click OK.
7. Run the backup plan which reported the File access error.
